Looking Forward To The End!

FYI- Talky Post!

1:10 pm
At the moment I'm sitting in a Starbucks wait for a friend to show up so we can work on our final project together. I think it's going to be a lot of fun and we can totally bust out this final which is one of those reason's why we are doing it together. Over the weekend I finished my last English essay which was a big task off my shoulders because my professor decided we need a 1,200 word limit now I usually don't have an issue with an word limit on a essay but when I got my last essay back she "nicely" told me I talk to much so I stressed out on keep my essay a suitable length so I wouldn't get marked down. Overall I liked her as a professor because she pushed us to do great work but she was also so picky about the little details that almost at one point in the term I wanted to punch her in the face.

9:56 pm

It's me again lol tonight took a turn for the worst because my parents had a fight :( I know it's not my problem but it still just breaks my heart so I decided to text a friend just to distract myself from thinking about it well once again she doesn't give a flying fuck what's going on with me or how I feel at one moment in the convo I told her straight up I miss her and I want to know/feel she misses me as well and the one word answers start up OMG!!!!!!! Pisses me off so much because hello you need to change!!!!!! Now it really feels like I have nobody :(

Do You Do This On Purpose?

FYI- This Post Will Just Be Me Ranting Away... sorry I promise a better post will be coming soon!

Do you ever have that moment where a friend of yours drops a possible plan for another one of their friends? Well I swear I'm always that friend that gets dropped and it freaking sucks... I understand having to schedule time to talk with friends now that we are actually adults but seriously put some fucking effort in once in awhile! I'm always the one putting fourth effort to keep communication open and almost every time I get shut down maybe once in awhile she is in a "talking mood" it's complete bullshit first all I don't deserve to be treat so poorly, also it's like she doesn't understand how it feels to have that done to her. Honestly I tried giving her a taste of her own medicine but it doesn't really do much :-/ Then comes the question of does she even miss me? That question will break the strongest heart because it's that doubt that eats away at your mind and can really screw you up. I wish I could actually talk to her about this like a real talk type of sit down but she doesn't handle those well its cause she can be really childish about something like that and it frustrates me to no ends...

Top 10 Favorite Bon Jovi Songs!

Band Members From Left To Right: Richie Sambora, Jon Bon Jovi, Tico Torres, David Bryan

When I first became really interested in the band was my sophomore year of high school (2011) at the time myself and my best friend were knees deep into loving RockNRoll it was one thing we often bonded over because it was like finally someone who is the same age as me loves these artists too. Thinking back I wanna say that we just sat and watched endless music videos of rock bands on Youtube and we came across Bon Jovi and instantly fell in love with their sound and also their major songwriting abilities. As I have said before in a couple of posts I love great songwriters because great lyrics make you want to know the reason why the artist wrote the song in the first piece. So here are my top ten favorite Bon Jovi songs enjoy and let me know some of yours as well!

10. Everyday- I like this song because of the interesting drum beat at the beginning it's almost a little hip hop as for the Jon's voice it shows how well he uses his vibrato and being able to control it with how it's whispering the words then bringing up the volume it's a cool effect.

9. Livin' On A Pray- Yes, I know usually this is every bodies favorite song of there's but I do really like it. Of course it's an anthem but if you listen closely to the lyrics it's about a couple who are working class people who are just trying to make it to the next month. That is one of the aspects of this band I appreciate so much is their background shows a lot in their music just four guys from New Jersey making great music. Another piece of the song that I like is when Richie is using a Heli Talk Box which makes those strange sounds towards the beginning that sounds like a guitar is being played underwater I think it's an awesome affect.

8. It's My Life- Again loving the use of the talk box I'm a sucker for that in rock music. As for the rest of the sound this bands thrives on big sounding drums Tico Torres is one of my all time favorite drummers. The slight keys in the background of the song have a cool sounding affect sorta like they are just floating over the song. Lyrics in this song bring a really important message of taking chances and doing whatever you want to do in life and not let anyone tell you different totally up lifting. Their is a wonderful line within the song it say's "Frankie did it my way" the story behind this lyric is that Jon really looked up to Frank Sinatra as a performer and he had a determined way of going about life meaning he was going to do music, movies, tv whenever he wanted to not when someone else told him.

7. We Weren't Born To Follow- Another anthem here but it brings an awesome message it's telling us to be ourselves I think as humans we often forget that because we try so hard to fit into what's in at the moment but what is gonna make someone interesting is how they stand out  compared to everyone else. Their is also a killer guitar solo in the song!

6. I'll Be There For You- Words can't even express how much I love this song but I'll try to this for me helped me through a lot of really hard times in my life it gave me hope that one day I'll be okay. I love the call and response in this song with John's voice and Richie's with the guitar lightly sprinkled over it all. I have had a reoccurring dream of singing this on a stage in an packed arena it's silly I know especially since I don't think I have all that good of a voice.

5. Have A Nice Day- This is a great I told ya song! HUGE DRUMS, HUGE GUITAR SOUND, and A KILLER VOICE is the perfect brew for a powerful rock song. PS, WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO IT'S A COOL VIDEO!

4. Bed Of Roses- As for this little number this is to be the sweetest I screwed up song! Seriously it has a special place in my heart when I hear this song I see a room lit up with candles, roses scattered all around, while this song is playing in the background it's so romantic :)  It is a scene out from a movie I think haha (Heart Swooning Listening To It)  one of the songs that I always get Goosebumps while listening to it that's always been a sign a song is really special <3

3. Who Says You Can't Go Home- First of all the video features Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles working with the charity Habitat For Humanity which is an organization that builds house for families who have been hit with horrible weather issues which caused damage to their homes. Even before talking about the song itself it shows people to help their community when in need I think that idea has been lost in this day and age. Now the song has a bit of a country vibe so I like that Bon Jovi went a little out of their comfort zones with a slight sound change. The story being told is somebody who couldn't wait to leave the town they grew up in which is an normal feeling for a young adult but once that young adult gains some age and wisdom to them you know that there is no place like home! One of my favorite lines in the song is "Just A Hometown Boy Born A Rolling Stone" it describes the song in just a phase.

2. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead- The video for this song is so freaking funny because it shows the band hiding behind newspapers and climbing into a car and getting into another one trying to escape fans which is something the Beatles did in their movie A Hard Day's night. Another image that I liked is showing them in Paris visiting Jim Morrison's grave sight it was cool to see how interested they were to be able to be there. It's a great video you must watch! The song is a fun party like song that just has  a nice vibe to it!

1. Never Say Goodbye- For me this is a new favorite I only just recently discovered the song but I fell in love with it from the start. Another wonderful love ballade from them it actually almost brought me to a tear in my eye because it's a promise to never forget a past love, a friend that you lost touch with, a memory that you hold so close to your heart. It's beyond beautiful piece of music that has a forever place in my life playlist if you will!

Too Much To Do To Little Time

Fair Warning-Talky Post!

I'm writing this from having a very eventful weekend I had family come for a visit and it was really nice to see them yet not wonderful timing to have them come. It caused some stress but hey what family doesn't cause stress right? Anyways it went well but it left me really tired and just feeling sorta blah :(  I think it's because this is the time in the semester where it's coming to a end and most of my classes is very essay-based learning so therefore I need the time to sit down and write them but to do that sort of writing I like doing it on the weekends because I can set aside a whole day to whack it out and complete it and not have to worry about it. The nice thing about this week is I don't have class on Thursday so that means I can get that essay out of the way! (I'm one of those people that have to get an essay done in one sitting). As for the other really awesome thing is I have only one day of a class I don't particularly like so I don't have to deal with immature mean girls who think they are still in middle school smh I swear I can't believe how dumb some people can be.. Another reason why I'm in a just an "okay" mood is because I having a bad skin day and just breaking out a lot so that really tends to eat away at my self confidence about the way I look oh well that's what make up is for lol

I leave you guys today with a song it's Season's Of Wither by Aerosmith the reason why is it has always been one of those songs that helps me calm down if I'm feeling a bit stressed or just in a blah attitude. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kgrzrphdT4

Music Fave- Kaleo

Now I first heard of this band because of a commercial for a new HBO show Called Vinyl it's is directed by Martian Scorsese and Mick Jagger so already I was hooked because a rock legend and one of my favorite movie directors ever were teaming up. Their song called No Good was in the trailer for the show and I totally just wanted to hear more of their sound. No Good starts out with just a few notes being strummed on a electric guitar within those notes I knew it was going to have that classic badass vibe that 70's Rock N Roll had. It also has a bit of distortion which is used so much to get that classic sound as the lead singer starts singing he had this powerful grit to his voice and a snarl that kissed the sound ever so slightly yet it made an impact because I could tell that the snarl in his voice was going to be something he'd be known for later in his career. Then he will surprise you with hitting a two range octave note and it smacks you in the face how amazing it sounds. It takes a lot of control to sound so good in his lower register and then to jump straight into that falsetto and he does it so effortlessly. The next song I wanna talk about is called Rock N Roller it screams Teenage Angst. I really like the video to this because it shows a teenage aged kid sneaking out of his room and going out with his friends, Taking a bus to some town, causing mayhem in a gas station like shop, and finally arriving to an outdoor concert where Kaleo is playing.  It's a really cute idea because the four boys were like the younger versions of themselves to see a band that possibly was that band that made them want to play music for a living. As for the sound of the song I noticed drums are heard a lot more it's a much harder sound than anyone drummers I have heard in bands today so I really liked that. The track reminds me of something The Clash or The Who would have made in that 70's era. Lastly is the track called All The Pretty Girls is my favorite it's a slower ballade compared to their other music but the soft and sweet sounds of an acoustic guitar floats to your ear and it made my heart swoon a little actually. Then he began singing and I fall in love with his voice at that moment in time. His runs he does just amaze me that he can do that then switch to a gritty rock voice. Which that area of his voice comes into play at the end of the track it's so folk rock and I love it!   Everyone must check them out because this band is gonna be huge I just know it!!

Music Fave- The Black Crowes

Band Members:

Chris Robinson – vocals (1985–1989)
Rich Robinson – guitar (1985–1989)
Keith Joyner – bass (1985–1987)
Jeff Sullivan – drums (1985–1987)
Ted Selke – bass (1987–1988)
Scott Shamel – bass (1988-1989)
Steve Gorman – drums (1987–1989)

The Black Crowes are one of my favorite bands for a few reason the major one being is that they created great songs. I'm one of those people that really is into lyrics because of the messages that they can bring to people so I love bands that have skilled songwriters in them it makes them more real meaning that it's not somebody just telling them okay stand here and sing this it's so much more personal. Another reason why I love this band is because their genre in music is Southern RocknRoll. It's one of those cross genres that I find very interesting because of that wonderful songwriting skill country artists have but is coming alive with that rich, exciting, and powerful sound that rock is so well known for. One of my favorite songs is actually a cover called Hard To Handle by Otis Redding this song is just straight up party song and it's so much fun to listen to. There a great line in the song that goes "I'm advertising love for free so come place your ad with me" I'm sorry but that is so funny. The vibe of this song brings me back to a really nice summer day while just chilling out with friends playing some tunes and this comes on and everyone is up and dancing and singing along. Another thing I like is the twang of the singer Chris Robinson's voice has it gives the sound so much richness sort like adding chocolate onto already really sweet ice cream. It coats the sound in a great way. Now lets talk about that guitar work wow can you say guitar guru?! I sure can Rich Robinson brings that rocknroll flare to the music because his guitar playing style is so typical down and dirty guitar sound we all know and love. I was shocked by how much I liked the drums Jeff Sullivan has a real groove when he is playing drums that adds a bit of soul to the mix it's a surprising element but fits so perfectly into their sound. Next of course we have to talk about probably one of my all time favorite songs ever "She Talks To Angels" when a singer of a rock band can start the song by singing with only light strumming of a guitar behind him it shows how well he can really sing because it's showcasing his vocals mostly. I recently watching Chris do an interview about this song and he said he wrote at age 19 and he was just creating a character within the song but as the years went on people kept telling him how that one song related to there lives so now the story of what the song is actually about comes from the fans and how they relate to it. Hearing that to it really made me think so much more about what he said means because I always have loved knowing how artists came up with the songs they wrote and knowing the backstory of them but now I find it so much more worth it to make your own story for that song because it only matters if you somehow relate to it. I smile as I'm writing this because it really did make me look at music in a different way than I did before so now I thank him for doing that for me. So I think everyone should check them out!
